Who we are
Skyward Skip Hire is a trading name of Apex Waste Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17025745. Our registered office is at 37 Bull Street, Holt, England, NR25 6HP.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller under registration number [PLACEHOLDER: ICO registration number].
For any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at bookings@skywardskiphire.co.uk.
What this service is
Skyward Skip Hire is a lead generation service. We do not directly provide skip hire. When you submit a quote request, your contact details and job requirements are passed to one or more local skip hire operators in your area, who will then contact you directly.
This is important for understanding how your data flows. We are the data controller for the information you submit to us. Once your details are passed to a local operator, that operator becomes an independent data controller and their own privacy policy governs how they use your information. We are not responsible for the data practices of operators we refer you to.
What data we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a quote request, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your postcode or location
- Details of your skip hire requirements (skip size, preferred delivery date, placement location)
- Any additional information you include in a free-text field
We do not collect payment card details or bank information. No financial data passes through this website.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages you visit and time spent on each page
- Referring website (how you arrived at our site)
- Date and time of your visit
This information is used to monitor site performance, diagnose technical issues, and understand how visitors use the site. It is not used to identify you personally.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Pass your enquiry to a suitable local skip hire operator so they can contact you with a quote
- Follow up on your enquiry if we have not been able to match you with an operator
- Respond to any direct enquiries or complaints you make to us
- Maintain records of lead activity for business and compliance purposes
- Improve the quality and accuracy of our matching service
- Monitor and improve the performance of this website
Marketing and direct contact
By submitting a quote request, you are consenting to be contacted by a local skip hire operator regarding your enquiry. This contact may be by phone, email, or SMS. It is the operator, not Skyward Skip Hire, who will contact you.
Skyward Skip Hire does not itself send marketing emails or make outbound marketing calls. We will only contact you directly in connection with a specific enquiry you have submitted.
If you do not wish to be contacted by operators following a quote request, do not submit the form. You can also contact us at bookings@skywardskiphire.co.uk to request that your details are not passed to any operators.
Operators who receive your data are required to comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR when contacting you. If you receive unwanted contact from an operator, you can ask them to stop directly, or report a concern to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following bases under UK GDPR:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): when you submit a quote request, you are consenting to us passing your details to a local operator for the purpose of receiving a quote.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): for site analytics, security monitoring, and maintaining business records. Our legitimate interests are to operate and improve a functional lead generation service. We have assessed that these interests are not overridden by your privacy rights.
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.
Who we share your data with
Local skip hire operators
Your name, contact details, and job requirements will be shared with one or more local skip hire operators. These are independent businesses operating in your area. We take reasonable steps to ensure we only work with operators who comply with applicable data protection law, but we are not responsible for their data practices once your data has been passed to them.

International data transfers
Some of the third-party services we use may process data outside the UK or EEA. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or Standard Contractual Clauses, as required by UK GDPR.
The third parties listed above (Resend, Airtable, Google, Vercel) all process some data outside the UK or EEA. Each is covered either by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or both, as required by UK GDPR.
Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:
- HTTPS encryption on all pages of this website
- Access controls limiting who within our organisation can view submitted enquiry data
- Use of reputable third-party services with their own security certifications
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We retain enquiry data (name, contact details, job requirements) for 12 months from the date of submission. After this period, data is deleted or anonymised.
Analytics data collected by Google Analytics 4 is retained for 26 months (the GA4 default retention period) and then automatically deleted by Google.
We may retain aggregated, anonymised data (such as enquiry volumes by location) indefinitely for business analysis. This data cannot be used to identify you.
If you would like your data removed before the retention period expires, contact us at bookings@skywardskiphire.co.uk.
Automated decision making
We do not make decisions about you solely by automated means that produce legal or similarly significant effects. The matching of your enquiry to a local operator involves some automated filtering (by location and skip type), but a human review process is also part of how we operate.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies: required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. They include cookies that remember your session state and support form functionality.

We use Cookiebotto manage cookie consent. When you first visit the site you'll see a banner asking which cookie categories you accept. Only essential cookies are set before you consent; analytics cookies (and any future marketing or advertising cookies) are blocked until you opt in.
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of this website.
